Need to extend your HDMI signal using CAT-5e/6 Cabling?
Now I know not everyone needs to do something like this, but depending on your home theater installation requirements, you just might have to. Sometimes cabling with HDMI cables can be a real pain in the ass because they tend to be stiff and aren’t easy to bend and fit in small places. That’s a shame for people who are used to using CAT 5e or CAT 6 cables. Luckily, a kick-ass HDMI Extender by CAT-5E/6 Cable exists which will allow you to greatly increase your HDMI signal.
The unit comes with a sender and receiver. You put your HDMI cable into one end and your CAT-5e/6 in the other and you’re all set. This device allows you to extend your HDMI signal by almost 200 feet in 480p mode or almost 100 feet in 1080p.
Talk about something useful for hard core home theater enthusiasts like myself.
Definitely check out HDMI Cables Cheap the next time you need a low cost HDMI cable or accessory. HDMI signals are digital. You don’t need to overpay for HDMI equipment. Or visit the eBay Store.
Google submits revised digital book settlement
WASHINGTON (AFP) –
Google and US authors and publishers submitted a revised settlement to a US judge Friday seeking approval of an agreement that would clear the way for millions of books to be sold online.
The modified settlement, which runs nearly 370 pages, seeks to address copyright and anti-trust objections raised by the Department of Justice and others to the original version of the complicated legal agreement.
Google and the Authors Guild and the Association of American Publishers reached the settlement last year to a copyright infringement suit they filed against the Mountain View, California, company in 2005.
Under the settlement, Google agreed to pay 125 million dollars to resolve outstanding claims and establish an independent “Book Rights Registry,” which would provide revenue from sales and advertising to authors and publishers who agree to digitize their books…

Advertisers face resistance to on-line tracking
by Daniel Silva MADRID (AFP) –
Campaigners are stepping up efforts to curb online tracking of Internet use by firms that deliver adverts tailored to the specific interests of consumers, as polls reveal widespread unease with the practice.
Corporations have always collected personal data on the people who buy their products but in the past this information came from sources such as magazine subscriptions and warranty cards, experts at a three-day privacy conference that wrapped up Friday in Madrid said.
Now it is flowing at breakneck speed into databases from multiple online sources, from dating services to newspaper websites, giving companies the unprecedented power to create detailed profiles of their customers, in many cases without their being aware of it, they added.
“There are so many grey areas in advertising that if the end user knew about it all, it would make their …
