Britney Spears is a major recording artist who has sold hundreds of millions of records in her career. Right now the recording industry is counting on Britney to sell many copies of her forthcoming releases. But is the nearly 27 year old up to the task?

Recent reports indicate that Britney is showing signs of strain.

According to Star insiders close to the celebrity say that Britney has endured two relatively bad “incidents” in recent weeks that call into question her ability to perform. After her son Jayden became ill during a visit she was supervising, Britney fell into a “mini breakdown,” according to a source.

“After that, she didn’t want to return to California to bring the boys home,” the source said. “She just crumbled. Jamie Lynn found her crying and did everything she could to comfort her.”

The only thing keeping her going right now is the fact her father is keeping a tight leash around her neck. But that tight leash seems to be choking Britney, too, or at least she’s complaining it is.

A rep for Angelina Jolie quickly squashed pregnancy rumors this weeks. Jolie is not pregnant with her and Brad Pitt’s seventh child, as some media outlets had reported.

It’s not hard to see why people would get the idea that Jolie and Pitt were planning on having another child immediately. As Jolie promoted Changeling, she couldn’t help mentioning how much she loved children. Pitt, for his part, followed a similar tangent during his personal appearances. Anyone talking about kids this much must certainly be planning on having more, one would reason.

“It’s the greatest endeavor I’ve ever taken on,” Pitt told Oprah Winfrey. “Why stop now?”

“Anything could happen. We’re open to anything, we love kids and we’re having a great time,” said Jolie. “It’s chaos in our house, but it’s so much fun. We’ll definitely have more.” Reportedly, the actress refused alcohol at a restaurant in London this week, fueling the speculation.

True Jolie watchers will also remember that Angelina Jolie denied being pregnant the last time when she really was. She could just be lying, as usual.

Jolie began her infatuation with bladed weapons early in life. According to her, she received her first set of daggers when she was 11 or 12 and honed her knife throwing skills while playing the part of Lara Croft in the Tomb Raider films.

She’s been a fan of daggers since she was 12, and is now passing the tradition on to her children.

Since Jolie has played so many action heroes in her day, the idea she’s invincible may be soaking in.

For awhile Kate Hudson and Owen Wilson had a hot and heavy relationship going on, but now things have cooled off just a bit. The two broke up, but lately they’ve decided to patch things up and become friends.

Wilson and Hudson broke up in May 2007, but now Owen is looking to make amends. A source told In Touch magazine,
“Owen invited Kate to spend a weekend with him in Maui, where he spends a lot of his time these days, and she’s planning on doing so, likely before the end of the year.”

The source added, “This time they’re taking things slowly.”

Even though they can’t be lovers anymore, they decided to become friends. Seems like they’ve been listening to some old classic songs, too.

Oprah Winfrey has ballooned up in recent years. She’s been battling a weight problem for years, and now she’s deciding to do something about it. She’s gone on a crash diet, in the hopes of losing 25 pounds before the inauguration of Barack Obama on January 20th.

Insiders say she’s more motivated than ever before, because Barack Obama is a really big deal to her. She wanted him to become President desperately. Of course he won and now the titan of television is afraid of letting Barack and the nation down by looking like 10 pounds of something in a 5 pound bag.

She’s telling friends that she wants to lose 25 pounds for the gala event, so she won’t look so fat in her designer dress.

“She knows she might not be able to keep it off, but she’s determined to lose as much as she can before Barack’s big day,” an insider told Life and Style.

How she plans on accomplishing the miracle weight loss remains a closely guarded secret.

Barack Obama was excited when he heard the news. “Oprah Winfrey has always been a national treasure,” the President-elect said. “But it would be much better if she was hotter.” No he didn’t. Just playin’.

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer are becoming more of an item every day. The two have been spotted on several dates, and Mayer has invited Aniston to his parent’s home for Thanksgiving. Could wedding bells be in the not too distant future?

Word of the attacks in Mumbai are certainly depressing.  Terrorists in small boats landed near the busy Indian business district and went ashore carrying small arms.  They targeted Americans and Britons for kidnapping, but weren’t afraid to randomly shoot any victims they could get their hands on.

You can wonder what the terrorists are so upset about. Everywhere else in the world, people are toning down their consumer spending as debt loads put them in a precarious position. A deep recession is being expected now by many economists.

Jennifer Aniston is head over heels in love with John Mayer, who has invited her to his parent’s home for the holidays. It looks like things are finally heating up for Aniston.

Mayer has already met the actress parents and is said to have won over her mum Nancy Dow by treating her to cake. According to sources, Aniston was desperate to get her dad to meet up with Mayer after their rocky relationship got back on track.

“They couldn’t keep their hands off each other,” the Mirror quoted a source, as saying.
